Meet Lyntha and Terry Eiler
Lyntha and Terry Eiler are a husband-and-wife documentary photography team
whose collaborative work spans decades. Known for their quiet, attentive
approach to editorial storytelling, their photographs have appeared in the
National Geographic Society, Sunset Magazine, and the American Folklife
Center at the Library of Congress. They were contributors to the EPA’s
landmark Project Documerica, which brought together more than 100
photographers to document the American environment in the early 1970s. This
work is featured in a German DW Public Television film marking the project’s 50th
anniversary, directed by Pierre-François Didek. Terry Eiler is a Professor
Emeritus of Ohio University.

2025-2026 BOARD MEMBERS
The Friends consists of a twelve-member Board of Directors, including four elected officers, four elected at large, three appointed as members of a President’s Advisory Council, and one position held by the executive director of the Museum. The Board meets monthly August — May to review and plan activities. The Board also hosts an annual meeting in the spring with the Friends membership to elect new Board members and to report on activities that occurred over the past year.

Michael Lincoln
President
Michael is Professor Emeritus of Ohio University School of Theater, where he taught lighting design and served as Director of the School of Theater from 2012-2020. From 2018 through 2022, he has served as Artistic Director of Tantrum Theater, Ohio University’s professional theater. He has been a lighting design member of United Scenic Artists since 1983, designing well over 300 productions in theatre, opera and dance, on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regionally and internationally.

Shelley Delaney
Vice President
Shelley Delaney is an Ohio University Emerita Professor of Theater who taught acting for 19 years, served as Head of Performance for 12, and directed 22 productions on campus. She works with the non-profit Shining Light as a teacher and facilitator, leading Arts and Character Development programs for incarcerated adults, and is happy to continue her work as an actor, director, and educator.

Jen Cantu
Secretary
Jen Cantu has assisted Kennedy Museum with support for its local school tours and volunteers conservation work on its Navajo weavings collection. She earned her MA in Art History and a certificate in Museum Studies from Ohio University in 2018.

Lyntha Scott Eiler

Lyntha Scott Eiler is a documentary photographer and a picture editor, has produced work for USIA magazines, National Geographic, EPA’s Project Documerica, The Library of Congress’ American Folklife Center, the Calvert Marine Museum, the University of Pennsylvania and the National Institute of Health. She was an educator for over three decsdes with the Scotland Field School in Documentary Photojournalism for Ohio University’s School of Visual Communication and taught at Marietta College and Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.

Sarah McDowell
Treasurer
Sarah McDowell has been serving as the treasurer of the Friends of Kennedy Museum of Art since May of 2023, and joined the board in January the same year. She has been employed by Ohio University since 2006, primarily as an art director but also as a typography adjunct instructor. Her primary responsibilities as art director include creating the university’s alumni magazine in addition to doing creative work that supports the division of Advancement, the Ohio University Foundation, and the OHIO Alumni Association.

Chris Eaton

Chris Eaton holds a BFA from Dayton Art Institute and an MFA from Ohio University. He operated a full-service photographic studio in Athens Ohio for 28 years. He was an adjunct art professor at Ohio University, Lancaster for 29 years and continues to paint and exhibit his work. He has served on the Board of the Friends for 10 years.

Sherry Blankenship
FKMA Board Member
Sherry Blankenship, Associate Professor in Graphic Design, focuses on print/publication design and typography. She has taught graphic design world-wide including New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Lebanon Qatar, Ohio, and Malaysia and offered workshops in Turkey and the US. She has designed, advised, and overseen production of publications, posters, brochures, stationery, newsletters, books, and invitations. In addition, she co-created/designed the magazine Comma and researched/wrote the book New Zealand Designer, Mark Cleverley.

Louise Steele
FKMA Board Member
Louise Steele was born in Southwest Virginia graduated from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol VA. Received her Music Therapy Bachelor’s from Florida State University and her graduate degree from University of Kansas. She began the first community-based and largest music therapy program in the country at The Music Settlement in Cleveland, OH. She was the director of undergraduate and graduate programs in music therapy at Ohio University in 2003 retiring in 2011. She publishes and presents nationally and internationally. Louise holds Professional Practice and Lifetime Achievement Awards from the American Music Therapy Association.

MATEO GALVANO
Mateo Galvano is Recruitment & Retention Liaison and Lecturer in Studio Art at the School of Art + Design. A former Santa Fe, New Mexico gallery owner, he holds an MFA in Painting + Drawing and a Certificate of Museum Studies from Ohio University. Galvano’s multimedia studio and exhibition practice reflects a position of experimentation with ideas and presentation strategies. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is included in national and international private collections.

Madeleine Scott
FKMA Former President
Madeleine Scott, Professor Emerita of Dance, retired from Ohio University in 2015 where she served as Director of the School of Dance, Interim Director of the School of Theater and Interim Dean of the College of Fine Arts at Ohio. She holds degrees from Loyola Marymount University in Theater and UCLA in Dance Performance. She is certified in Movement Pattern Analysis, Laban Movement Analysis and Hatha Yoga. She performed with DANCE/LA, Manuel Alum Dance Co. and Douglas Nielsen DANCES. She has served on the Board of the Friends since 2016 and as president since 2018.
